1. Nobody's gaming anything - radio talking head Neil Boortz included her name in a post on his site, and invited readers to "[g]o ahead ... Google the name." So people did. Boortz may have been trying to deflect attention from the McCain story, but he did so in a very transparent way and without any intention of impacting Google Trends.

2. Might want to be a little more careful on your sourcing Jason. BigHeadDC is the same website that falsely reported that ABC News' Sam Donaldson's phone number was on the DC Madam's call logs. It wasn't. That site is fairly well known for trafficking in filth, and usually incorrect filth at that.

3. Jason,
I think it is sad that politics always seems to end up at this level. I don't like Clinton or McCain, but I really don't care who they sleep with. I care about ideas. I suppose this stuff says something about integrity, but I care more about ideas and freedom and economics and leadership.

We don't debate and report on ideas enough. Too much on celebrity and personality.

5. C'mon Jason. Is this what you've spent so much time and money to build? Sure this stuff is interesting from an academic (hits and traffic) and People Magazine standpoint but as an avid reader I would hope you could rise above it.

7. The spike of interest in Ms Abedin was because of libertarian radio host, Neal Boortz (based in Atlanta, GA). If you see Google Trends, there is a spike at around 6.00 am. I am assuming it is in Pacific Time, as I remember around 9.00 am ET when I was driving to work here in Atlanta, Neal mentioned Ms Abedin's name. He was trying to compare the NY Times coverage of Sen McCain and the loobyist with the lack of coverage on the murmurs of a supposed 'relationship' between Sen Clinton and Ms Abedin. By the way, Matt Drudge had a link to some British stories on Ms Abedin (and the supposed innuendo re: her and Sen Clinton), late last year....

10. We have friends on the Hill, I personally do not live in WA DC but our friends who are in the political circle commented that Hilary's lesbian Trices are old hat in WA and is broadly known. Its all about the liberal press and what it considers to be news worthy. Now Obama???????//
