I've never been a fan of New Year's Resolutions. Instead I try to constantly evolve, finding that the "big changes" occur over time and typically it takes multiple tries. However, I have an idea for a fun New Year's Resolution for ALL of us.
In 2008 I'd like to meet all of my friends/connections on Twitter, Facebook, Mahalo, and LinkedIn.
That's around 7,000 unique contacts from around the world I'm guessing. It's clearly an impossible task to meet them all, but could I meet 1,000 of them? 2,000? Half?
What wold be the best way to do this? Dinners? Meetups? Dim Sum? Parties? Conferences? A 20 city tour?!?
How would you keep track?!
Thoughts?!?!
Here are the raw stats:
Twitter: 5,824
LinkedIn: 2,803
Mahalo: 495
Facebook: 3,283

1. I'd like to do the same. I have quite a few people on Twitter that I'd love to meet in real life and they live right here in Greenville,SC. Some others I have made connections with are all over the place like California, London, Kentucky, Boston and even as far away as Australia and New Zealand. Not sure when I can get away from the Southeast so far this year but I definitely need to ramp up my networking in 2008. Any suggestions for breaking the online/real world barrier?
