1. I'd like to do the same. I have quite a few people on Twitter that I'd love to meet in real life and they live right here in Greenville,SC. Some others I have made connections with are all over the place like California, London, Kentucky, Boston and even as far away as Australia and New Zealand. Not sure when I can get away from the Southeast so far this year but I definitely need to ramp up my networking in 2008. Any suggestions for breaking the online/real world barrier?

4. How many people do you think there are once aggregated? I'm on at least 3 of those lists and I'm sure I'm not the only one. That should cut some of the numbers.

I like the idea of the tour - you could sell T-Shirts ;)

From everything I heard - the NYC Dim Sum party was great (I was traveling at the time, so I'm still on your list). Conferences are too hectic - I know that everyone wants a piece of my time when I'm at a show - it ratchets up 3000% when it's you.

So - it it the meeting part or the connection that is the resolution?

6. Hey Jason, the good folks of Brighton (UK hotspot for Internet stuff) would be delighted to host you any time. But my honest advice would be to focus on quality of friendships, not quantity. Make sure you're spending enough time with your family and really close friends before worrying about widening the net too far.
But all the same, please do pop down to sunny Brighton some time :)

12. i imagine a lot of your contacts are people in the industry and in the know, so it might be easiest, and most convenient to simply arrange meetups at every conference you attend for 2008.

for CES, have everyone meet at the blackjack tables at the Luxor. and you can use twitter's api to create a guest list for everyone, and have them tweet to the event indicating they have arrived, and you've meet. THEN, you slowly work your way down the list, moving from conference to conference, until this list becomes like that treadmill in the basement: new year's resolution relics

and i hope once you figure out what is the best way for you to do this, you do create a page on mahalo :)

Interesting strategy though I have to say, acquire mass scale to your networks, then go back and strengthen those relationships. Hope it works for you. :-)

17. Jason, challenge your "friends" to DEMAND that you come to their city! Start a viral campaign to get people demanding you. I just started a demand in San Diego for San Diego folks who have "friended" you to get you to come here.

At the Pasadena Jazz Institute we're set up perfectly for hosting mixers (330 capacity) complete with two full bars and outdoor patio overlooking Pasadena City Hall. The venue is stunning. Plus we have a stage and we have video capability so you can stream the events live. Almost like your own mini-TEDS here in LA. Also, one of my good friends, Louie Ryan, owns two of the hottest night clubs in West LA, Zanzibar and the Temple Bar. I could arrange you hosting events in West LA if Pasadena is too far, or perhaps we do both!??
