Squidoo addresses spam concerns.
Frankly, they are going to have to turn off more than half the lenses and features to solve the problem from what I can tell... I'm interested to see how serious they take it.
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now and check back on this in August.

(Page 1 of 1)2. Wow. You're on quite a "Mahalo is better than Squidoo" kick recently.
While you're at it why not put your pals at Netscape into the same light? How do you explain garbage like this making the front page when "anchors" are on the lookout? http://diy.netscape.com/story/2007/07/06/how-to-optimize-your-website-performance/
3. Markus: When i was running Netscape I had very hard rule it had to be news--and news only. I didn't allow press releases, splogs, and junk.
However, I'm not there anymore and it seems that folks are a little bit more lose about the front page.
I would ban that website based on the % of advertising on the page alone.
That's what we're doing at Mahalo.com in fact... no bad links! :-)

1. It's a trap! ;-)
