Twitter only allows followers you've accepted as "friends" to direct message you. Also, you won't see any twitters posts by followers who are not also your friends (even using @jasoncalacanis).
I follow you and others because of the back channel discussion on web 2.0 stuff and feel more real-time information will come through twitter than on blogs.

9. I soooooo don't get twitter.... and I don't have the time to spend on my phone.... total time killer...that's why I don't IM either... just can't do it. Don't get twitter, period, but different strokes for different folks......

11. Twitter's become an awesome back-channel/stream of conciousness for friends and circles. It doesn't replace the blog, it enhances the juiciness of it. We think our thoughts through twitter and you can just guess what's going to be the main course for your article. It feels more personal even though it might not be.
Twitter's got some great game and some aren't getting it, or overloading it, either way if you find the zen of it the world seems to flow a hint better. I know i find myself grinning more just being closer connected to those that aren't around me.
