9. This is another wake up call for americans to start holding inspectors, workers, owners accountable for food borne illnesses related to unhealthy, unsanitary conditions. I'm sorry, but these workers had to have known about this rodent problem and they did nothing. The inspector did nothing.
Could you imagine serving rat feces to your spouse knowingly? Wouldn't that be considered pre meditated murder? Am I over reacting? Maybe not. I know we can choose just not to eat here or at other places, but, we shouldn't have to.
We need stricter laws. Our health inspection system is broken. Most restaurants can cover up violations quickly. I know, I've worked in restaurants for almost 30 years. It makes me sad how much restaurant workers put food safety on the 'back burner', so to speak. Usually you are so busy that food safety does get nudged aside.
This is unacceptable. Americans should be furious over this, and not take any apology from Taco Bell. We are a nation that forgives too quickly. We can't do it on this issue. We all should be acting up and doing something about this. Write your congress man/woman about this issue. This is money well spent to do something.
Inspectors, food handlers, managers, owners should all be sued over this incident. Yes, it's unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit to wake people up and be more safe about your work area.
The people that ate at this establishment need to sue over this incident.
