1. Google already has a free-OS. It's called Ubuntu. OK, you've already heard of that OS, but what people don't know is that it was funded by Google.

2. Randy, Ubuntu was/is funded by Mark Shuttleworth. It is a known fact that Google has their own version of Ubuntu that is internal to Google only and has yet to be released if it will ever. If Jason is correct as he was in the office suite, we should see GOObuntu within the the year. I'm pretty convinced that this will happen. So I think it's a bit inaccurate to say that Google was funded by Google.

3. Good call on Google's challenge to MS. The problem with Google's office suite right now is that it runs way too slow. I use it for my business and the ideas are really cool, but it is hard to use practically because of how slow it is (I use broadband cable and a good computer, so it's not my end that is the problem).

4. Well, they may "make a PC" too. I have a feeling that some part of this will find its way onto one of those pizza boxes they sell. Get your local web-based office automation with automatic (but optional) back-up to the mothership.

And if they had a home version of same (ie: below 1K, I'd defy some laws of physics getting my credit card out.

5. If there will be ads in my OS I'll change it to something else. It's to close to controlling of what I'm doing (to see something is an action) and I'm the free person.

6. Who knows. They might have to, even though I think they would prefer not to. Some thoughts. Linux can be complicated for general users. But the Google CEO is on the Apple board and Intel is on the new apple computers. When will Apples OS be on PC's?, that is the easiest way (except the drivers need sorting).

7. I cant see the connection between the Desktop and advertising revenue unless there is inventory that is unique to the desktop. If the share is off the same revenue then either you expect content owner to reduce their share of expect Google to do the same.
