Am I throwing away $100k!?!?
Anyway, the reason I don't sell the space on my blog is because:
a) I don't have the time to sell it
b) I like the way the clean design looks
c) I make money building profitable businesses, not selling ads on my business card (and that's what I consider my blog to be).
That being said, if someone wants to sponsor my blog I will give them three ad units on the page and a huge hug if they donate $100,000 to the Bay Ridge Prep Opportunity scholarship fund (the same one that PodTech and Godaddy sponsor for my podcast--oh yeah, time to do one!).
The scholarship goes to folks who could never afford a private school education, but who the school feels could really benefit from it. So, it's not an academic scholarship for folks who have amazing grades, its a scholarship for folks who didn't get dealt the best hand in life.

(Page 1 of 1)3. Bravo Jason! I am going to try very hard to hold you to that by finding you a buyer in my free time. Now we need to convince the other 4, and others, to get this going as well.
This is GREAT news. You guys can help soooo many people.

7. I wish I got $25 per thousand pages :-(
I applaud your efforts, and no-one will ever be able to question your independence that way.
Wikipedia should do the same and give the money to charity.....I have the same beef with the BBC in the UK, as they have one of the top 10 sites.
9. Jason, that is an awesome idea! There are many schools that offer similar scholarships and financial aid, but unfortunately, the people who need them the most often have no idea these opportunities exist. My own son has a scholarship to attend a private school in the LA area and it has transformed his/our life. As a single parent, I feel so lucky to have a group of teachers and administrators that really know and care about my son, and of course the excellent education he is receiving. Thanks for doing this!

10. Just think of the money, you could make, the traffic to click ratio, would be enough to retire.

15. I recently came across this post about the Bay Ridge Prep Opportunity scholarship fund and the potential for advertising on your blog. My partner Ed Harrison and I have decided to sell Blogster.com, both the domain and the developed property at the Moniker.com Live auction at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West conference in Las Vegas on March 7th 2007. We would like to donate $5,000.00 dollars to your charity immediately and then for any amount above 300,000.00 that Blogster.com is sold for at auction, up to 350,000.00 we will donate up to 50,000.00 dollars to Bay Ridge Prep. So if Blogster sells for 310,000.00 we donate 10,000.00 more, if Blogster sells for 360,000.00 we would donate 50,000.00. We would also announce this at the auction, in hopes that it would help the auction out, because the new buyer would be getting some free advertising on your site for an amount of time to be determined. We also hope to generate some publicity for the auction, for Blogster, for your site, and to put some cash towards a good cause. Please let me know if we can talk.
