The top 10 web (website) designers today

I'm looking for a designer to work on redoing my blog and some work on the CalacanisCast logos. I'm building a list of the best designers I can find....

In no order so far...

silverorange - digg and firefox
hicksdesign - firefox and thunderbird logos (niiiiiiiice!)
stamen design - cool interface stuff like root markets, digg, flickr
happcog.com - Magnolia is soooo nice
stopdesign -- the blogger redesign was niiiiiice
simplebits -- odeo's clean design
You guys have any other thoughts?!?!?

10. You have some good suggestions in the comments but my advice, find someone new, set a new direction, don't copy. Don't do a contest, look at portfolios, choose someone, work together, find a design (with the designer) that expresses you. Be a partner with the designer, don't do betas, work it to final. Release. And if you and the designer have what you want to represent, fuck everyone...be you.

Don't copy, don't do the typical web-2.0 look, be unique...just like you.

12. Er... am I allowed to plug here? I'm very affordable, I have a well rounded profile (considering I've done this for only two years or so), and clients always seem to like me (I think anyway!). I've done work for some sites that have been featured in national media too, like "Death and Taxes" ( http://thebudgetgraph.com/index.html ) as well as my own sites (portfolio at my site, I linked to it).

Otherwise, I'd go with Chris Pearson. I know him through a PodDev interview and he's an amazing designer who without doubt could take the CalacanisCast design to the level that you're looking for (though I think I could make a darn good run of it).

Well... they are more widely known in the "Flash Design" world than on Web 2.0, but IMHO the most amazing and talented designers are those who work with 2ADVANCED.

Their website is a work of art.

There's this guy named Shane Mielke that used to work with them (I think he's not with them anymore), he was known as PixelRanger and he made some amazing things while working at 2ADVANCED. This is his current website:
