31. I'd be interested to hear what the deal is with Netscape. You were the driving force behind taking it in a whole new direction but now you're leaving fairly early in that shift. You say you'd have been leaving anyway--does that mean it was a failed experiment or that new management is going to handcuff it? Is there any future for Netscapoe without you at the helm?

33. Years ago, I heard J. Michael Straczynski talk about his experiences at AOL Time Warner. Eric Bischoff tells similar stories in his new book. And I actually work with someone who had experiences similar to both of them. You were the first person I had known of in years who was actually happy working there. I am sorry it didn't work out.

You're up there with Scobel in my book as "good people".

37. Jason, I never told you this...never had a reason to until now I guess...but the opportunity you and Judith afforded me to join WIN as a blogger was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I had just left cubicledom to start my own internet marketing business and, frankly, I was starving. Some 401K money, a small business loan, and the money I made blogging at WIN was all that kept me afloat for the first few months. Not only that, blogging for the company gave me credibility I never would have had otherwise.

39. Best of luck with whatever you do next Jason. Your voice waas refreshing at the company and was a platform that empowered many of us (especially those of us who joined the company in the past 12 months to turn it around) to speak "truth to power."

That said it is disappointing and seems a bit pouty for you leave at this time and in this manner. Just because Jon was pushed out doesn't mean that you run away from the fight. The scale of AOL and its potential as platform remains.

Jon needed to go...he had zero operational strength AND what AOL has needed for well over 7 years is operational focus and discipline. If you think about all the talent and resouces squandered over those years it really is unprecedented in the history of business.

The way Jon was sacked was wrong but hey...that's the way it is done in the media biz. Anyone who read the New Yorker profile on Parson many years ago knew that Miller's end was going to go down like this.

So the big question for you Jason is this. How are you going to balance what you want to say against the all the restrictions in your contract that could put your "change of control" driven lump-sum payout at risk?
