3. Why are you still stuck in the mindest of syncing? Ditch that and use a web-based calendaring app that has both desktop and mobile browser versions. (Yes, I know, Google Calendar is supposed to work with most phones, but I have had no success doing so.)
Just like we've al started to break free of needing to have all our apps installed on our PC (Web 2.0), we need to extend that paradigm to our mobile devices.
4. To comment on 3 in comment above, as enthusiastic as I am about mobile web applications, a good calendar requires functionality that is beyond what todays mobile web apps can deliver. Features like notifications/alarms, stand by screen integration and off-line use are important, yet require a "client". That is why I am surprised that there's yet a good Google calendar client or synchronization system for mobile platforms.
